We opened up the beta for everyone to enjoy the experience even more, including our new users and even our development team. We’re all very excited!

CitySpoon Inc.’s SpoonerSpot, a new social networking platform that lets users share the important places in their lives with their followers in a fun and engaging layout, has officially started its final beta testing phase. The site went live at 12:00am on March 8th, 2012, and within hours received significant attention from excited new users and media outlets. Due to the nature of the beta site, SpoonerSpot was originally released with a required password to log in; the password was available to followers of SpoonerSpot and CitySpoon Inc. on Facebook and Twitter, and was included as part of a press release from the company announcing the release of the SpoonerSpot beta. Due to overwhelming response from the massive amount of individuals interested in joining the beta phase, CitySpoon’s team decided to remove the password requirement at the end of the beta’s first day, officially inviting any interested beta testers to sign up for an account at SpoonerSpot.com and start creating Spots today!

SpoonerSpot is a geographic micro-blogging website, allowing users to travel anywhere in the world via the site’s interactive map, click, and instantly share stories about any place on the globe with the other Spooners (SpoonerSpot users) that follow them. Similar to other social networking sites that incorporate the popular following system, SpoonerSpot allows its users to “blast” information to the entire world, sharing information, garnering attention and taking part in a virtual community that exists on a global level.

SpoonerSpot has taken away the original beta log in requirements, now offering the beta site to anyone who is interested. This change was announced via SpoonerSpot and CitySpoon’s Facebook and Twitter feeds, and instantly garnered additional new users who were interested in taking part in the site. Overall feedback has been tremendous, and the addition of new beta testing users has added more feedback for CitySpoon’s team to help grow the site and has also given significant more content for the site’s new users to read through as they explore the SpoonerSpot world map.

SpoonerSpot is still being developed and won’t be ready for official launch until sometime in the second quarter of 2012. Despite SpoonerSpot’s need for additional development, functionality on the site has working quite smoothly and more and more new users are appreciating SpoonerSpot’s interactive capabilities. Every moment additional Spooners are signing up for the site, new Spots are being created and new comments on those Spots are bringing the recently developed and fast growing SpoonerSpot community together.

“The SpoonerSpot beta was originally meant to be a password protected session, but we decided to let anyone take part in it because it’s really a lot of fun!” said Bijan Safi, CitySpoon Inc.’s CEO. “SpoonerSpot is a lot of fun, and the more Spooners that are on there the more fun it becomes! We opened up the beta for everyone to enjoy the experience even more, including our new users and even our development team. We’re all very excited.”

Even in its present developmental phase SpoonerSpot has already allowed many new users to interact with other Spooners and share information about their world. Spooners are creating Spots, talking with each other through each Spot’s comment feature and truly seeing the world through the eyes of their friends and family. Additional responses from interested businesses looking to engage with their customers through SpoonerSpot.com have also been received, and CitySpoon’s team is busy working on enhancing the site’s features so everyone, from individuals to businesses, can truly enjoy SpoonerSpot with the full amount of features originally envisioned by the company’s development team. SpoonerSpot is continuously adding and enhancing, and looks forward to a prosperous future that will truly let users “put their life on the map”.
