New Recreational Ice Hockey and Skating Camps Are Starting

Kids Skating Up, an innovative new community learn-to-skate and learn-to-play-hockey organization, is sponsoring camps and clinics starting quickly.

Kids Skating Up is a program dedicated to providing ice skating and hockey camps and clinics at discounted prices to Pittsburgh youth. The on-ice sessions will be held at rinks throughout the Pittsburgh region while some mentorship talks to be held off-ice occasionally. Groups are kept very small in number with highly experienced coaches working with the children to learn, grow and keep skating in good fun.

Unlike other learn-to-skate programs in the area, Kids Skating Up offers a different testing level structure that is more intuitive with the average recreational skater. The hockey program is also revolutionary with skills introduced straight-forwardly and new drills made to practice game situations and have fun.

With enough interest, Kids Skating Up may offer subsidized camps for those with low incomes.

Preschool classes (including those with mom or dad), recreational ice skating through 8th grade, and ice hockey through age 13 are levels offered.
