Dr. Gary McClain of http://www.JustGotDiagnosed.com is now serving in an expanded role on Depression Connect, a patient social networking site in which he has been posting discussions as Dr. Gary. He will now be answering questions from site members through an “Ask an Expert” feature, part of the recently launched “Living with Depression” content area of Depression Connect. He also continues to participate on other Alliance Health discussion boards that include Diabetes, Arthritis, HIV, and Chronic Pain.
"Depression Connect provides a real lifeline to individuals suffering from depression,” McClain said. “Many of these individuals literally have no one to talk to about their depression. They may be misunderstood or even ostracized by their friends and families. Many are receiving some kind of treatment and many are not, or they are receiving medication but don't have access to therapy. Depression Connect provides a place to share experiences and offer each other support.
McClain emphasized the valuable role of the Alliance Health patient social networking boards on Alliance Health in the lives of patients. “I have been blogging and leading discussions as Dr. Gary for almost two years on the site.
