DealCloud, LLC has added another client to its growing base of PE DealCloud customers. Waltham, Massachusetts-based private equity firm Webster Capital, has selected the industry specific SaaS platform to back its fund operations and to manage its portfolio and fundraising activities. After evaluating multiple solutions, Andrew McKee, Webster Partner, said the firm chose PE DealCloud because, “it wasn’t a generic CRM system meant for selling widgets that was then customized for our industry. It was obvious that DealCloud was built specifically for the private equity investment process and it had the configurability to match our process exactly. Other options we considered would have taken longer to implement, thus delaying our ability to quickly obtain the efficiency we were looking for in a solution to support our day-to-day operations.” After providing Webster with a trial run of the platform, DealCloud imported the firm’s data and had Webster fully operational within a few days.
One of the most impressive aspects to the Webster team has been the speed with which PE DealCloud can be tailored to meet the needs of the firm’s proprietary processes and nomenclature. Senior Associate Kyle Hynden commented, “The system already feels native to Webster. We’ve had a lot of communication back and forth with the DealCloud team to configure the platform as if it were built just for us. I’m constantly impressed by the configurations they’re able to apply, the advanced features the system is capable of, and the benefits made to our day-to-day business.” DealCloud continues to provide the tweaks and configurations Webster needs to address their multifaceted approach to sourcing and reviewing new opportunities.
PE DealCloud has enabled Webster to further its vision of building great businesses by enhancing operations. Now the firm can more easily follow interactions with portfolio companies’ management, maintain an indexed library of documents, and track strategic and operational initiatives. PE DealCloud’s Portfolio Company Management module enables its users to track and document their ability to build and grow great companies.
DealCloud is excited to have Webster as a customer. During the trial period the team provisioned Webster’s application with firm-specific data so they could get comfortable with the platform before signing on. Rob Cummings, Co-Founder of DealCloud, said of Webster, “Having an experienced team with such a strong reputation and history using DealCloud is invaluable. The Webster professionals have provided us great feedback on how to make the platform even more sophisticated.”
