This week, Harbor Distributing, Gate City Beverage Distributors and Crest Beverage announced their partnership with Diageo-Guinness USA to promote alcohol awareness and responsible drinking this St. Patrick’s Day, reminding party-goers to celebrate responsibly.
The joint program will focus on consumer and retailer engagement throughout the period leading up to and including St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The program will utilize posters on site at retail locations reminding everyone “You can’t rely on the luck of the Irish” to get home safely. The posters will be displayed at approximately 265 licensed establishments in the counties of Orange, San Bernardino, and San Diego. The program provides a platform for bartenders, wait staff and other servers to remind consumers to enjoy the festivities responsibly. Each poster will feature messaging to help avoid drunk driving, underage drinking and reminds everyone of the importance of a safe holiday.
“As the unofficial sponsor of Saint Patrick’s Day, Guinness believes this is the best day of the year”, said Sheila Stanziale, President, Diageo-Guinness USA. “Harbor, Gate City and Crest make an enormous contribution to the celebration with their Responsibility Program and we are happy to be able to join them in their efforts this year. This program will help to bring the industry, consumers, retailers and servers together to make responsibility a community effort this St. Patrick’s Day”.
“We are proud to partner with Diageo-Guinness for responsible alcohol consumption on this great holiday – St. Patrick’s Day. We want everyone to enjoy themselves – ‘Have Fun and Be Safe’ and know that using a Designated Driver or Taxi Cab is the safest advice for celebrations with alcoholic beverages. We may not be able to ‘Rely on the Luck of the Irish’, but we can surely plan for a safe and sober ride ahead of time”, said Tom Reyes, President, Harbor Distributing.
