With the launch of Lexia Reading for the iPad, we are leveraging the power of this engaging platform to deliver a multi-sensory, individualized approach to learning that is unparalleled.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) March 12, 2012
Lexia Learning announced today the anticipated launch of Lexia Reading for the iPad, available in late 2012. Currently in development, this app is the only research-validated literacy program available on the iPad, and will provide the full functionality of Lexia’s data-driven, individualized learning program, Lexia Reading.
“We are keenly focused on producing market-leading innovations to support the needs of educators,” said Lexia President and CEO Nick Gaehde. “Responding to intense customer demand for iPad delivery, Lexia will now be able to provide our award-winning program in a manner unlike any other comprehensive reading proficiency software.”
Students using Lexia Reading for the iPad will have the same experience as with the computer-based version of the product. The software provides students an explicit, systematic, structured and individualized approach to developing foundational reading proficiency. Using Lexia’s patent-pending embedded assessment functionality, detailed performance data is captured in real time. These norm-referenced performance measures predict student outcomes on year-end assessments, identify student skill gaps, and provide teachers and paraprofessionals with recommended materials for individualizing instruction.
“With the launch of Lexia Reading for the iPad, we are leveraging the power of this engaging platform to deliver a multi-sensory, individualized approach to learning that is unparalleled,” said Gaehde.
Lexia Reading for the iPad is the latest innovation from Lexia, a company that continues to lead the market with mobile innovation to support effective instruction. In 2011, Lexia launched the MyLexia app for the iPhone®, iPad and iPod touch®. The first of its kind, the MyLexia app provides teachers with detailed student proficiency data and the power of a norm-referenced database in the palm of their hand.
“Our ability to provide real-time student data at the point of instruction, when and where it’s needed, has proven to be a game-changer in data-driven instruction,” added Gaehde.
