A special groundbreaking ceremony will be held at The Terraces at Los Altos on Thursday, March 22, at 2 p.m.

ABHOW President and CEO David Ferguson and Los Altos Mayor Val Carpenter will join members of The Terraces at Los Altos Advisory Board and future residents in celebrating the beginning of the community transformation.

“We’re bringing a unique and vibrant senior lifestyle to the Silicon Valley area,” said The Terraces at Los Altos Executive Director Rae Holt. “This groundbreaking is an opportunity for us to come together as a greater community and see the future of The Terraces at Los Altos begin to take shape. We are excited for this transformation and how it will enhance our residents’ lifestyles by offering new services and amenities.”

The first phase of construction will include The Village, which will provide 30 skilled nursing suites. A second building will consist of The Grove, the community’s dedicated Alzheimer’s and memory care center, offering 16 private suites.

Upon completion of Phase I construction, Phase II will begin with The Lodge, which will offer 30 assisted living residences with personalized care tailored to meet individual needs. After The Lodge is completed, Phase III will begin and include 81 new residential living apartments in a variety of floor plans and design features. The new commons areas will also be completed in Phase III, and will feature a fitness center, restaurant-style dining venues, library, movie theatre and more. “We’ll offer seniors an engaging place to live independently, with the security of lifetime access to a range of health care within the same community,” said Holt.
