Homewood, CA (PRWEB) March 15, 2012
West Shore Technologies, Inc. today announced a partnership with Dinos Trigonis’s Fullcourt Press/Pangos for their two “live period” college recruiting events in April and July 2012.
The partnership will enable college coaches using SportsBoardTM Basketball Scout, West Shore’s patent-pending iPad scouting and assessment application, to obtain player profile data that will then be pre-loaded in their iPads. Basketball Scout replaces the bulky printed player packets and gives coaches the ability to enter ratings and textnotes, record voicememos, and take photos/footage for any player at these events on their iPads.
“Fullcourt Press/Pangos understands the issues with data quality and availability for college coaches and the imposition and difficulty those issues create for the coaches,” Trigonis said. “Anything we can do to make the recruiting process easier for the college coaches at our events not only makes their experience better, it also motivates them and others not yet coming to our events to continue to attend looking for the best high school talent available.”
Gregg Jacobs, West Shore’s founder and CEO, suggests that the new partnership simplifies the recruiting process for college basketball coaches.
“By partnering with Fullcourt Press/Pangos, we are fully automating college coaches’ ability to assess talent, electronically sharing those assessments with other coaches on their staff, and making better, data-driven recruiting decisions,” Jacobs said. “And now that we are interfacing with recruiting and compliance systems like Front Rush and others, we are eliminating all of the data entry time coaches spend after attending these recruiting events.”
Virginia Commonwealth University, a Final Four team last year, was one of the first universities to recruit using iPads. The Rams developed their own App, recording comments and charting shots last year during their Cinderella run. Once VCU learned that SportsBoard included a server where all of the iPads could sync and the data would be synthesized and available for analysis, the coaching staff replaced their App with Basketball Scout.
“The app I created for VCU was good, but enabling it to sync the data on our four iPads together was a technical challenge we couldn’t overcome,” said Donny Lind, VCU’s video coordinator. “We had a cool system, but we needed to re-enter the data into a database from each of the four iPads in order to really analyze it. SportsBoard solves that for us.
“West Shore has even included a shot chart that is fully integrated with their ratings, text notes, voicememos, photos and video, all by player. I can’t imagine another system we could use with more potential for selecting top recruits than SportsBoard.”
Basketball Scout will allow coaches to easily search and find players in those hefty, cumbersome 300 page coaches packets, providing simple access for coaches ready to chart individual player shots or keep live stats on the in-game progress.
SportsBoard Scout is also available for Soccer, Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Lacrosse, Baseball, Volleyball, Field Hockey, and Rugby. For more information about West Shore Technologies, visit http://www.sportsboard-win.com.
