The Tierra del Sol Foundation, an organization that has been serving and empowering individuals with disabilities for more than 40 years, has received a $50,000 grant for operational support from The Rose Hills Foundation for Tierra’s First Street Gallery Art Center (First Street), located in Claremont, California.
“We are delighted and proud to receive this grant from The Rose Hills Foundation,” said Tierra’s Executive Director Steve Miller. “This support will enable First Street Gallery’s Program Director Rebecca Hamm and her talented, dedicated staff to continue their outstanding work, both at First Street Gallery and in the Claremont and broader communities.”
This generous grant from The Rose Hills Foundation will provide many resources for Tierra’s cause in the Claremont community. Tierra is also launching its Spring Arts Appeal to help First Street enhance its services and programming. To assist First Street in achieving its goals, a generous donor has provided Tierra with a $10,000 challenge gift. Tierra is encouraging individuals to rise to the challenge and support First Street to ensure that artists will continue to enjoy opportunities to explore their talents and realize their dreams.
“Since opening our doors in 1989, we have helped hundreds of artists to develop their talents and to experience the rewards of showing and selling their work as professionals,” said Hamm. “Each year, we offer our artists five on-site shows and 20 off-site exhibitions—at both national and international venues. We look forward to even greater opportunities for these visionary artists through support from the community.”
