2012 Dallas Tennis Classic Announces Official Player Field that Includes 8 Players Ranked in ATP Top 70

The Dallas Tennis Classic, a new stop on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour played at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, today announced the official player field, which includes former No. 2 ranked Tommy Haas and 17 other players ranked in the top 100 on the ATP Tour.

“Now that the final player field is set, we are extremely excited with the number of top ranked players we have in the draw,” said Zoltan Papp, Dallas Tennis Classic tournament director. “Dallas Metroplex tennis fans are going to see some fantastic tennis throughout the week as these players prepare for next week’s Sony Ericsson in Miami.

The Dallas Tennis Classic is an ATP Challenger Level event with Prize Money of $125,000. The event features a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw. Unlike other Challenger events, top 50 ranked players can play in the Dallas Tennis Classic, without obtaining a wildcard, as they prepare for the Sony Ericsson.

The wildcard recipients into the main draw were No. 160 Benjamin Becker, former Baylor NCAA Singles Champion, No. 169 Tommy Haas, No. 178 Amer Delic and John Nallon.

In addition, four qualifiers will be included in the main draw tomorrow after their final round of qualifying singles matches.

Tickets are being sold through the tournament website at DallasTennisClassic.com.

The ATP Dallas Tennis Classic is an International-level Challenger event governed by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) offering $125,000 in prize money.
