Depression and anxiety and their related illnesses are taking a toll on so many lives in the world today. Author JB Dumás is one of those whose life has been affected by the tormenting effects of these mental health disorders. She was held a prisoner within her own consciousness, as she and her family suffered through a living hell in dealing with her predicament. In her new book, My Escape from the Captivity of Anxiety and Depression, which will be featured at this year’s American Library Association-Midwinter Exhibit in Dallas, Texas, from January 20-24, 2012 and the Florida Library Association Exhibit in Orlando, Florida, from April 18-20, 2012, the author shares her gripping story of how a darkness and unexplainable strangeness had managed to sew its way into her very being that unfortunately affected everyone she loved. She recounts her day-to-day experiences of falling deeper and deeper into a mysterious abyss of despair that she could not seem to escape.
Realizing that there are countless others who are at present encountering situations similar to her own experiences, it is the author’s desire to shed some light from the knowledge she obtained along her journey to recovery, in hope of possibly guiding another lost soul to discover his or her way home. “It is my hope that my book will not only help those who are searching for a story that is similar to their own, but also to show that there is a way to improve your health and feel “alive” again…with the support and encouragement of your family members, friends, or support group, you can hopefully devote everything you possess within your mind, body, and soul toward recapturing your health and rendering yourself whole again,” shares the author.
