Media Logic, a nationally recognized agency specializing in marketing for a social world, has kicked off a social promotion for Cabela’s Ultimate Outdoor Team giveaway that will drive customer engagement and tie-in with the outdoor company’s Ultimate Adventures television show on the Outdoor Channel and its Outdoor Adventures travel program.
“Social promotions such as the ‘Ultimate Outdoor Team’ are reinforcing the affinity Cabela’s customers already feel towards the brand,” said Ronald Ladouceur, executive vice president and executive creative director for Media Logic. “We’re not trying to necessarily grow the fan base — it’s already nearly 1.5 million — we’ve designed the promotion to increase the likelihood that the existing customers will amplify the brand to their own social circle. In particular we want to engage not only men, but women, and especially couples, in this e.ffort”
To enter, Cabela’s customers are encouraged to share up to three photos of their “Ultimate Outdoor Team” — a couple, father/son, two friends or any combination of customers — and information about why they believe they are the ultimate team. The contest will be heavily promoted on Cabela’s Facebook page.
The 10 entries with the most votes from other customers will advance to the finals, where a celebrity panel of judges, including members of Cabela’s Pro Staff, will pick the grand prize winner for the 10-day hunting and fishing trip for two to New Zealand. Other prizes include two $500 Cabela’s shopping sprees for 2nd – 5th place and two $250 gift cards for the remaining finalists.
“Cabela’s existing customers are our best brand advocates and supporting their ability to share their experiences and engage others through social channels is an effective way to create brand affinity and loyalty,” said Derek Fontana Internet marketing manager for Cabela’s. “This promotion in particular is a great way of reaching audience that includes more women and couples.”
