Little Elm, Texas (PRWEB) March 14, 2012
Hayward Baker Inc., North America’s leading geotechnical contractor, announces the consolidation of its geotechnical construction business activities in the state of Texas along geographical and service specialization lines.
As part of this initiative, on January 2, 2012 Craig Olden, Inc. became a division of Hayward Baker Inc. In addition to handling select Hayward Baker services in the North Texas region, Craig Olden, Inc. has national responsibility for injection services and gabion construction projects.
The consolidated entity continues to operate under the leadership of Art Pengelly, vice president.
Hayward Baker’s other facility in the Dallas area will continue to support jet grout and soil mixing work for the Northern and Central Texas region.
Craig Olden, Inc. is recognized for strong expertise in earth retention systems (ERS), including soil nailing, anchors, anchored soldier piles and anchored drilled shafts. Important additional services that are now available via the consolidation initiative include micropiles, grouting, aggregate piers, plus injection systems for expansive clay soils.
Although it has been part of the Hayward Baker organization since 2008, the business’ roots date back nearly 40 years. Craig Olden, Inc. was founded in 1973 and soon became nationally recognized for its expertise in gabion construction. There followed a transition into earth retention capabilities, including soil nailing, anchors and anchored soldier piles.
Illustrative of the company’s capabilities, in 2006 Craig Olden, Inc. constructed a soil nail wall as part of the project to build the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Tex. – the largest soil nail wall project in Texas history.
According to Pengelly, the Craig Olden and Hayward Baker services offered in the Dallas-Ft. Worth region are now being aligned according to service specialization in order to deliver focused attention and better efficiencies to developers, project owners and primary contractors.
“Our customers will find it easier to tap into our collective expertise and to devise solutions for their challenges. We are making no staff changes associated with the consolidation, so customers will find that they are dealing with the same people who already know their activities and their needs,” Pengelly said.
The realignment of activities in the Dallas-Ft. Worth region is complemented by Hayward Baker’s Houston regional office which now supports customers in the Texas and Louisiana Gulf area in specializations such as grouting, soil mixing and jet grouting services. That office is headed by Dennis Boehm, who was recently promoted to vice president.
