We want to be more than just a new self-serve frozen yogurt shop in town; we want to be a contributing part of the community. What better way to do that then to make our first day all about supporting the education of our students?
Patchogue, NY (PRWEB) March 16, 2012
Swirls and Twirls self-serve frozen yogurt shop (http://www.swirlsandtwirlsusa.com), featuring 24 flavors, 43 toppings and endless possibilities, announces the grand opening celebration of its third location at 394 Sunrise Highway, Patchogue, in the Waldbaum’s Shopping Center across the street from St. Joseph’s College, on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 11 a.m. – 12 midnight.
Swirls and Twirls owner Joe Sala, a member of the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, invites the public to stop by to savor “the ultimate healthy indulgence” on grand opening day for half-price. There will be music, games, free raffles and WBLI and 94X will be broadcasting live on location throughout the day. Plus two lucky people will win free yogurt for a year. The Patchogue Chamber of Commerce will be on hand at 1 pm to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome Swirls and Twirls to the community.
In celebration of this special occasion and as part of their commitment to give back to the local community, fifty percent of all Swirls and Twirls proceeds on March 23rd will be donated to the Patchogue-Medford PTA Council to help them bring educational programs to students as well as increase the number of student scholarships they can offer.
“We are enthusiastic about the opening of our new Patchogue location,” says Sala. “We want to be more than just a new self-serve frozen yogurt shop in town; we want to be a contributing part of the community,” he continues, “What better way to do that then to make our first day all about supporting the education of our students?”
As with all of their other locations, Swirls and Twirls will be using Facebook, Twitter and interactive mobile marketing apps to connect and dialogue with their customers. “We want to join in the conversations that are customers are already having in a meaningful way, not interrupt them. We will do this by supporting local fundraisers, offering promotions, discounts, fun things to do and giving away free stuff along the way,” says Sala.
The Patchogue location is the third of eight Swirls and Twirls scheduled to open in 2012. The successful launch of this chain began with the opening of the first shop in Massapequa Park in May 2011, followed by the second shop in West Islip in November 2011. Seven of the additional shops will be located in Long Island and the eighth will be Swirls and Twirls first New Jersey location. More shops are expected to open during the year through the recent availability of Swirls and Twirls franchise opportunities. (http://www.swirlsandtwirlsusa.com/franchise.php)
The 2,000 square-foot Patchogue Swirls and Twirls setting features a vibrant and unique interior, striking architectural lighting, music from a state-of-the-art sound system and free Wi-Fi. It has eight yogurt machines each serving two flavors, with a third handle allowing customers to create a swirled flavor. All premium yogurt flavors are kosher and most include gluten-free, non-fat, low-fat, no sugar added, dairy-free varieties, and are as low as 70 calories per ½ cup serving. The topping stations contain seven wet, nine fruit and 27 dry toppings. “We designed Swirls and Twirls to encourage folks to have fun and get creative,” says Sala, “With all these delectable options, there are endless combination possibilities to create your own healthy treat; your only limit is your imagination!”
After swirling up their own creations, yogurt fans move to a weigh-in station where the fee for their treat is only 49 cents an ounce. From 11am-7pm on opening day only, that price will be 25 cents an ounce. Tables and chairs and a wrap-around couch encourage customers to gather and enjoy Swirls and Twirls yogurt in a friendly, fun, party like atmosphere. All spoons, cups and napkins are made from recycled materials.
Leveraging technology to enhance the Swirls experience, two on-site touch screens have been incorporated into every shop. One provides easy access to ingredient, nutrition and allergy information while the other allows users to sign up for the loyalty program and earn free yogurt for doing so. Once a member, customers’ points are automatically sent to their cell phones making tracking and redemption a snap.
