RCD Technology will debut 4 new products for Medical, Security, Event Marketing, and Industrial RFID Application-specific Tags at the upcoming RFID Journal Live! Conference – a leading conference for the RFID industry.

These newly developed products reinforce RCD Technology's commitment to innovation and USA-based manufacturing of a diverse range of RFID tags

RCD Technology will feature four new application-specific RFID tags at the upcoming RFID Journal Live! Tenth Annual Conference and Exhibition on April 3-5, 2012 in Orlando, Florida. The products will be available on display at booth #120 and include: Sentry AST™Long Range for demanding industrial environments; Sentry AST™Gamma HF for medical sterilization applications; ViziBand™ full-color logo branded wristbands; and an entirely new line of Asset Verification tags that identify when a tag has been removed or stolen.

“These newly developed products reinforce our commitment to innovation and USA-based manufacturing of a diverse range of RFID tags,” stated Ken Horton, CEO, RCD Technology. Horton continues, “The versatility of our PCB platform combined with a decade of design expertise provide a wide array of options to our customers that are truly ground-breaking in the industry.”

Phil Koppenhofer, Vice President of Sales, adds, “Our customers have been requesting products with these unique features and application-specific capabilities and they are now available. The conference gives customers the perfect opportunity to examine our tags in person and order samples right from the show floor.”

RCD Technology’s newest RFID tags are based on printed circuit board (PCB) technology, a highly desirable platform, not only because it yields consistent, predictable results, but also for its cost-effectiveness. The versatility of the PCB platform allows RCD to quickly and efficiently design and test new RFID tags, without starting from scratch. Another advantage is that RCD tags perform as expected both during the prototyping stage and for final production. These four products are representative of the advantages of RCD’s design and manufacturing capabilities. Sentry AST Long Range and Gamma HF are two of the eleven products in the Sentry AST line; ViziBand is a new entry is the event marketing industry; and Asset Verification is an entirely new approach to previously unanswered security issues in the industry.

A brief description of each of the four featured products follows:

Sentry AST™Long Range provides exceptional read distances of 45’ in a sleek, compact and durable package. Engineered for use on a wide range of surfaces including metal, wood and most plastics, the Sentry AST™Long Range is designed to withstand the demanding conditions of outdoor and industrial environments. This high durability tag is manufactured from aerospace-grade materials and encapsulated, mounts with a high performance adhesive, epoxy, or rivets, and is smaller than any tag of comparable performance.

Sentry AST™Gamma HR is designed for tracking devices that are sterilized using gamma radiation. RCD’s Gamma HF tag incorporates the Fujitsu MB89R1118C chip that has been tested to 80 kiloGrays and provides 2kBytes FRAM. Sentry AST Gamma also features a small footprint, 13mm x 13mm, and has read distance of 3 -4 inches.

ViziBand™ is a high-quality, customizable, extended-use wristband, which incorporates an HF or UHF inlay. An innovative process allows us to quickly add a full-color custom logo to this popular silicone wristband. While ViziBand is durable enough to re-use, the real value lies in the promotional and branding opportunities it affords. Customers can use it at trade shows, concerts, sporting or media events to enhance the social media experience.

Asset Verification introduces the next generation of UHF asset management tags. This RFID tag alerts you when removed from its original placement. While RFID revolutionized asset management, concerns have remained: what if a tag is (intentionally or unintentionally) removed from one asset and placed on another? Assets could be misplaced, miscounted, or stolen. This tag uses an innovative implementation of the NXP G2iL+ chip that identifies when tampering has occurred, yet the tag remains fully functional.

Samples of these application-specific RFID tags can be ordered at the RFID Journal Live! Conference or beginning April 5, 2012. RCD’s other tags samples are available immediately.
