ioConsulting, Inc recently guided the California State University (CSU) system through a complex conversion to a Consolidated Financial System (CFS). As part of the CFS two year project, 23 colleges and several auxiliary units within the university, each with a unique chart of accounts and system extensions, has been consolidated into a single Oracle/PeopleSoft financials system.
“ioConsulting has an ongoing strategic relationship with California State University,” said Steve Kish, president of ioConsulting, Inc. “Our expert consultants were honored to help California State University with this complicated project. In today’s environment, universities and college campuses are looking for more efficiency and cost savings from their ERP investments. The CFS project is a perfect example of doing this well.”
The CFS is comprised of well over a hundred business units and a common set of system extensions used by all 23 colleges within the university. Before guiding California State University through the complex conversion, ioConsulting consultants helped the university develop a concrete strategy and vision for the new financial system.
"CFS was a multi-year strategic initiative,” said Jessie Lum, Chief Information Systems Officer at California State University. “The project was completed on time and on budget with the successful integration of ioConsulting and CSU resources into a single highly functional project team."
Besides a long term cost savings and efficiency for California State University, the Consolidated Financial System encourages common business practices throughout the university system. The CFS also facilitated a new data warehousing solution for reporting.
