iPhone users are massively over-spending on their mobile phone bills in their quest to get their hands on the latest iPhones – potentially wasting hundreds of pounds a year unnecessarily on their phone bills.
Research by Ofcom earlier this month showed that as many as 1.4 million mobile phone contract customers may have been affected by ‘bill shock’ in the past six months and that consumers have low levels of awareness about how to protect themselves from unexpectedly high charges. Ofcom-accredited mobile comparison site Mobilife.com has analysed 9,453 customer bills and found that the average iPhone contract user pays for 662 minutes a month when most only need around 300 minutes

Current data on mobilife.com (updated daily) shows that an iPhone 4s with no upfront cost starts at £30 a month with an allowance of 300 minutes. The best deal for a tariff of 600 minutes is £36 a month.
