J.H. Bennett is asking its residential customers to donate any non-perishable food items they will not be taking on their upcoming Erie move.
Erie, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) March 14, 2012
J.H. Bennett Moving & Storage/United Van Lines is moving forward in the fight against hunger. In 2012, they are committing themselves to assisting hungry families in the City of Erie, Erie County and beyond.
According to Move For Hunger, 1 in 6 Americans are struggling to find their next meal and 1 in 7 Americans relocate each year. As many are aware, many people throw out a good deal of “stuff” when they move. Unfortunately, a lot of this “stuff” is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than thrown away. That’s where J.H. Bennett Moving & Storage comes in.
J.H. Bennett Moving & Storage has teamed up with the national charity, Move For Hunger and the non-profit charitable organization, Second Harvest Food Bank to collect food and donations to feed the hungry. J.H. Bennett is asking its residential customers to donate any non-perishable food items they will not be taking on their upcoming Erie move. Their van operators will then collect, transport and donate all of those goods to the Second Harvest Food Bank. At the food bank, donations will be sorted and then delivered to local food pantries who distribute the food to families in need.
J.H. Bennett wants to take this effort a step further by asking ALL Erie residents who can participate by offering in office and “Fill A Truck” food drives as well. Check their website, follow them on Twitter, Like their Facebook page or connect with them on LinkedIn for updates on the locations and dates of their food drive initiatives in 2012.
