“Too many people are suffering in silence and do not have a voice,” Zarrisa writes. “It’s time for people to see for themselves how evil [abuse] really is. People need to know they can be held accountable for the duration and the ill-effects of their own, and/of the victims' suffering by neglecting to speak up, defend, or help in other ways.”
Statistics regarding domestic violence worldwide corroborate the facts that no class, no race, no color of people, no gender in society is exempt from this evil. From the richest to the poorest, from the least to the most educated, experience this pain.
If you are been abused or know anyone been abused, contact your local authorities for help, shelters, counselors, medical professionals, or a lawyer in your local area, for advice.
Zarrisa’s faith is an important component in her healing, and she encourages others to embrace that same component. “When you know who you are to our Creator and who He is to you,” she writes, “you will not want to tolerate this nonsense and will seek to get the right help to change your life to be the person you were truly created to be.”
