Author and world traveler Betsy Talbot is on a mission to show women how to be comfortable enough in their own skin to say exactly what they want at home, work, and in government. She believes there has never been a greater need for women to voice their opinions than now.

"People want to know how I got this fantastic life. It started more than 10 years ago with simply learning to speak up."

In Strip Off Your Fear: Slip Into Something More Confident, author Betsy Talbot takes readers through a sexy striptease of the emotional and societal layers that keep women from fully expressing their wants, needs, and dreams to the people they know and love.

The book contains many personal anecdotes of the author's transition from a self-described 'Good Girl' in conservative small-town USA through 10 years of changes that led to quitting a lucrative career and selling everything she owned to travel the world at 40 with her husband Warren. She wrote the book in response to the frequent question, "How did you create such a fantastic life?" In her signature style, she marries learning with action, using deeply personal stories to illustrate breakthroughs and then guiding the reader through exercises to reveal their own flawed and fabulous selves.

The author kicked off the release of the book with a video of her getting her head shaved to demonstrate that confidence is found on the inside. The video can be seen here: http://www.MarriedwithLuggage.com/Strip-Off-Your-Fear

When asked why she wrote the book in the style of a striptease, Talbot says, "I want to shake people up, show them in a blunt way how they are suffocating themselves and the world around them by hiding their opinions and ideas. There is no better metaphor than a striptease."

Betsy has included a section at the end of the book on how women can start the conversation around fear and confidence with friends through thoughtful book club discussion questions, a menu, a signature cocktail called The Skinny Strip, and even a soundtrack to get it all started. Talbot says, "This is an important conversation, but there's no reason it can't be fun."

Talbot says her message is simple: "Speak up. Be proud of who you are, what you know, and what you do. Help other women do the same. When you change your world for the better, you make it better for the rest of us."
