A recent report had recently suggested applying for a working holiday visa option in Canada. This, it explains is a great way for graduates from the UK to find work that is appropriate to their skills.
Global Visas are of the opinion that graduate jobs are still difficult to come by in the UK, with thousands of graduates remaining unemployed well after graduation. The solution, they say is the Canadian High Commission's recently released International Experience Canada programme, which will give 5,350 young people the chance to live and work in Canada for a certain period.
The demand for skilled labour, moreover, is abundant. Canada's High Commissioner in the UK, Gordon Campbell, told The Guardian that, "There is a big call for skilled labour in hospitality and construction in the western provinces, Alberta and British Colombia and in Toronto and the ski resorts."
He added that, "We are one of the economies in the western world that is currently very strong."
The working holiday visas are aimed at those who want to experience Canadian life for up to a year while doing casual work.
However, there are opportunities for people to remain working in Canada or to return to Canada later, once they get the right kind of job through which they can obtain a skilled work visa.
