Petaluma, CA (PRWEB) March 16, 2012
HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc., provider of the WeatherTRAK® Smart Water Management solutions, today announced record breaking growth for its fiscal year and the strongest Q4 in company history, December 31, 2011. Building extraordinary value for its customers and its investors with a commercial subscriber retention rate of 95%, HydroPoint continues its impressive accomplishments.
HydroPoint also announced today that the company's co-founder, Christopher Spain, will take over as President and CEO. Spain has been with HydroPoint since its inception in 2002 and was President and CEO until 2008 when he became Chairman of the Board and Chief Strategy Officer. Spain will be replacing Paul Ciandrini who is leaving the Petaluma based company to be closer to home and family. Ciandrini has taken a job with San Francisco based nScaled, a Cloud technology company.
"There has never been a better time to be at HydroPoint and to take over the day-to-day operations of the company again," said Spain, who will also retain his seat on the board. "HydroPoint has just had its best fourth quarter and fiscal year ever and we are about to launch four new products in our ongoing expansion of our very successful WeatherTRAK smart water management platform. I am excited about returning to the role of CEO and about the tremendous opportunity ahead of us. With water rates rising on a national basis, and our solution proven to work by 28,000 networked customers and 23 independent studies including the EPA, the company’s mission has never been more relevant."
In addition to being the driving force at HydroPoint, Spain has more than 20 years experience in successful management of cutting edge information services, media and technology companies. In 1996, he co-founded Shaman Corporation, a provider of mission-critical IT data services to leading companies. Four years later, Spain sold Shaman to one of the largest resellers of corporate software and technology.
"I have been thinking about this transition for a number of months and Chris and I have been talking about it for some time to ensure that it will be seamless," said Ciandrini. "My new position at nScaled not only gives me the opportunity to return to my IT roots, but allows me to work much closer to my home. I am very pleased at the substantial progress we have made at HydroPoint and I think Chris and the team will continue to produce stellar results going forward."
