Assurex Global Partners share a collective commitment to independent ownership at a time when insurance agencies increasingly succumb to economic pressure to sell or merge their firms.
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) March 16, 2012
The principals of nearly 50 premier independent insurance brokers—Assurex Global’s North American Partners—will gather at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee on March 20-22 for the 2012 Assurex Global North American Regional Partners’ Conference. International risk management, insurance, and employee benefits experts from Assurex Global Partner firms across the United States and Canada will be in attendance, along with Partners from around the globe. Assurex Global’s Nashville-based Partners, Bob Jackson and Jimmy Ward of The Crichton Group, will host the event along with Assurex Global CEO Jim Hackbarth. Conference co-hosts are Assurex Global Chairman Stefan Nill of Germany’s Leue & Nill and Robert Cawley, CEO of Baltimore-based RCM&D and Chairman of the Assurex Global North American Region.
Assurex Global is the world’s premier network of independent insurance, risk management, and benefits brokers. Assurex Global invites only the strongest independent brokers in North American and around the globe to become Partners/shareholders. In Tennessee, Assurex Global’s Partners are Memphis-based Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance and Nashville’s The Crichton Group.
“Assurex Global Partners here in Tennessee, across North America, and around the globe are determined to maintain independence. We share a collective commitment to independent ownership at a time when insurance agencies increasingly succumb to economic pressure to sell or merge their firms. To that end, we’re committed to spending two days in Nashville sharing ideas and developing strategies to help increase client satisfaction and the resources available to them, as well as how best to recruit and retain key talent to ensure the future independence of our firms,” said Ward.
Despite record unemployment, well-paying career-track positions go unfilled as Assurex Global Partners and other industry professionals struggle to engage top-notch employees—particularly Millennials under age 30—to fill professional positions. To help understand insurance professionals’ career choices, while shoring up the industry’s talent gap, Assurex Global recently conducted a survey of 4,986 insurance professionals employed by independent Partner firms throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Assurex Global Generational Workplace Audit is the first comprehensive, quantitative study of generations in the insurance industry.
The survey examines generational differences in the workplace among Millennials (ages 29 and younger), Gen-Xers (ages 30–51), and Boomers (ages 52-69). It also provides employers—Assurex Global Partners and others—with a strategic roadmap for the recruitment and retention of the next generation of business leaders and owners.
“One lesson gleaned from our study is that Millennials and Gen-Xers have a genuine interest in establishing careers that may one day lead to business ownership. Assurex Global Partners understand the lure of independence. The Assurex Global Partner network includes many employee-owned brokerages, and our Partners overall are committed to passing ownership of their firms from one generation of employees and managers to the next. We encourage entrepreneurial job candidates to do their homework and discover exactly what it takes to establish rewarding careers as risk management, insurance, employee benefits, actuarial, and underwriting professionals,” said Hackbarth.
