Norwich University will host its fifth annual CSI Symposium on Thursday and Friday, March 22 and 23, with all events occurring in Dole Auditorium and free and open to the public.

Hosted by the Schools of Social Sciences and Mathematics & Sciences presenters include members of Boston Police; Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the New York State Police Department.

Schedule of events:

Thursday, March 22

2:45-3 p.m. Robert Appleton of the New York State Police will give an introduction to crime scene investigation (CSI) concepts.

3-3:50 p.m. Gary Hoover of the FBI will discuss investigations.

4-4:50 p.m. George MacLarty of the NY State Police will present on crime scene processing and identification.

5-6:30 p.m. Daniel Duff and Robert Merner of the Boston Police will discuss their work on the “Craigslist Killer” case.

Friday, March 23

8-8:50 & 9-9:50 a.m. Dr. Richard Ovens, NYS Police (ret.) will present on forensic interview and interrogation.

10-10:50 a.m. Scott Mills of Crime Stoppers International will present on social media investigations.

11-11:50 a.m. Gary Kelly of the NY State Police will present on child abductions.

12-12:50 p.m. James Kennedy of the NY State Police will present on video enhancement and digital media.
