Firm Reports that Move from Wall Builder Version 4 to Version 5 Took “Literally, Just a Few Minutes”

IntApp, Inc., provider of the most-adopted confidentiality management software for law firms, today announced that Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, a business law firm with 170 lawyers, has upgraded to Wall Builder 5.0 as part of its efforts to streamline ethical screen enforcement and enhance firm risk management protections.

“We made the choice to work with IntApp in late 2011, after evaluating available confidentiality management products and confirming that what we had heard about Wall Builder was true – it’s the most-adopted, most capable and easiest to use information security software for law firms like ours,” said George Ansfield, Strategic Analyst, Benesch. “Based on the extremely positive experience we had working with IntApp to implement Wall Builder on time and on budget, we were eager to upgrade to version 5.0 to take advantage of the latest product enhancements.”

Wall Builder is a web-based confidentiality management software application that enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on ethical walls, information barriers and user access permissions across multiple applications. It natively integrates with and supports software applications include document management, accounting, portal, CRM, time entry and records management systems.

Wall Builder is the most-adopted confidentiality management software by law firms with 150 or more lawyers. According to an independent survey by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA), 74% of large law firms using commercial software to enforce information barriers across confidential information use IntApp Wall Builder.

IntApp channels the insight and experience gained from working with its unrivaled customer community into extending the product’s capability. Today Wall Builder customers include regional firms with as few as 75 lawyers and global organizations with as many as 3750 lawyers.

By implementing Wall Builder 5.0, Benesch is able to take advantage of significant functional, performance and user experience enhancements including:

  •     A ground-up user interface redesign, leveraging the real-world experience of and feedback from hundreds of active Wall Builder users
  •     Expanded reporting and dashboard functionality, including real-time visibility into the status of active information security measures across firm software systems
  •     New, more granular and more flexible configuration and management options for defined security controls
  •     Performance and scalability improvements designed to support organizations with multiple, distributed offices and those securing multiple document management libraries or software applications
  •     Architectural improvements enabling “one click, one minute” application upgrades for future product updates

“The new user interface in Wall Builder 5.0 is stunning and the product’s functional enhancements are significant,” said Andy Close, Network Engineer, Benesch. “But for our IT team, the best part of the move from version 4 to version 5 was the upgrade process – it took literally just a few minutes. That’s an example we’d love to see other vendors take a lesson from.”

“We’re excited to see firms like Benesch benefit from the continuing evolution of Wall Builder,” said Pat Archbold, head of IntApp’s Risk Practice Group. “Their success highlights the advantages available to law firms who choose to partner with IntApp to respond to the complex confidentiality management and compliance challenges facing the industry today.”
