Two quintessential San Francisco institutions, the City Club of San Francisco (CCSF) and the Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC), have joined in a partnership that overlaps membership benefits between the two organizations.

“We are proud to offer members of the City Club access to the Golden Gate Yacht Club, the host to next year’s 34th America’s Cup, through our reciprocal partnership created late last year,” said Daniel “Danny” Phelan, Membership Director at The City Club of San Francisco.

Members of CCSF will also have access to exclusive GGYC members-only activities such as weekend brunch with a bay view; an active yacht race schedule; and social events like Opening Day on the Bay, the GGYC’s world-famous Salmon Derby, Fleet Week Brunch, Halloween Party, Santa-by-Boat Brunch, New Year's Eve Celebration, Changing of the Watch, and cruise-outs to other yacht clubs.

With this reciprocal partnership, members of the Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) will now be able to enjoy CCSF member privileges like access to the members’ bar, member events, and preferred rates when booking special events.

The opulent, metropolitan City Club is located on floors 9 through 11 of the San Francisco Stock Exchange Tower on Sansome Street. The private club features dramatic examples of art deco artwork and architecture throughout, from gold- and silver-leafed ceilings in the dining rooms to Diego Rivera’s first commissioned fresco outside of Mexico ascending the Club’s main stairway.

CCSF offers its members amenities like winemaker dinners, networking events, speakeasy nights, holiday celebrations, weekday breakfasts, and a lavish daily buffet lunch and a la carte menu prepared by Executive Chef Michael Muno. Elegantly settled in the heart of the Financial District in downtown San Francisco, CCSF provides a sophisticated backdrop for its members’ client receptions, fairy-tale weddings and intimate gatherings.

The scenic and charming GGYC is the official host of the America's Cup yacht race, which will take place in 2013 for the 34th time. The facility offers delicious bar and dining services, accompanied by its dazzling views of San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Marin.

About Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC)
Golden Gate Yacht Club was founded in 1939, when members built the first clubhouse on a barge located in the San Francisco Marina. Fifty years later, the Loma Prieta Quake severely damaged the Club, but through the hard work and dedication of its members, the Club rose again to become the showcase facility that now exists.

Today, the GGYC is a popular cruise and regatta venue on the San Francisco waterfront, with a dynamic organization of members dedicated to boating fun—both sail and power.
