In-memory analytics pioneer Kognitio (http://www.kognitio.com) today announced the formation of a new dedicated business unit, the Kognitio Cloud. Its key focus is to ensure Kognitio remains at the forefront of innovation, providing customers with business intelligence (BI) solutions that meet their growing analytic requirements at a fraction of the cost of traditional implementations.
Today’s announcement was made at the GigaOM Structure:Data conference, being held this week here in New York. Kognitio is a sponsor of the event, at which attendees will explore the technical and business opportunities spurred by the growth of Big Data.
“Cloud-based Big Data analytics continue to generate enormous interest and investment among companies of all sizes,” said Steve Millard, Kognitio Chief Operating Officer. “The Kognitio Cloud reaffirms our commitment in this vitally important area. Associated with the creation of the new business unit, Kognitio announced the following appointments:
- John Coppins, Senior Vice President, Kognitio Cloud: Coppins has a background in both software and service delivery companies in a range of business and technical functions. He has a 20-year track record of success in delivering major information management solutions to large corporations. Coppins will be responsible for ensuring the overall success of the new business unit.
- Nigel Sanctuary, Vice President, Cloud Propositions: Sanctuary has more than 20 years’ business and marketing experience in both software and services. He is responsible for defining product and market propositions and for working with partners to ensure that the propositions are understood and effectively delivered. Sanctuary will work closely with Kognitio’s customers to identify innovative solutions to their problems.
- Ian Bird, Vice President, Cloud Solutions: Bird is an experienced technologist and client manager, focusing on the deployment and management of complex data integration environments and defining class-leading technical solutions around analytical platforms. He is responsible for architecting Big Data, in-memory analytics as a Cloud platform in an elastic compute framework, and for working with partners to ensure that its delivery is customer-centric.
