I will personally inspect and sign a certificate of authentication on each piece that meets the elite standards of our highest quality tanzanite designation, the Vault Signature Collection.
Knoxville, Tenn. (PRWEB) March 20, 2012
Jewelry Television® (JTV), the largest broadcast retailer of fine jewelry and loose gemstones in the world, will make the final stop on its annual World Tour event in the East African nation of Tanzania March 23 through 25. The centerpiece of World Tour Tanzania will be the debut of JTV’s new tanzanite certification and gemstone laser engraving program.
“We have decided to showcase our best quality, larger carat weight tanzanite by certifying these stones by an independent laboratory, authenticating them by numbering and laser engraving each stone on the girdle, and including a complimentary appraisal,” said Jerry Sisk, graduate gemologist and co-founder of JTV. “Our highest quality material will be designated the Vault Signature Collection and our better material will encompass the Vault Heirloom Collection.”
JTV, long recognized as one of the leading retailers of tanzanite in the world, will employ a rigorous evaluation process based on the following criteria:
- Individual tanzanite stones must be 1.5 ctw or larger
- Deep color saturation
- Best clarity
- Excellent cutting and proportion of stone
“Each piece of tanzanite material will be individually inspected by a gemstone expert,” said Sisk. “I will personally inspect and sign a certificate of authentication on each piece that meets the elite standards of our highest quality tanzanite designation, the Vault Signature Collection.”
“Since this year is the 45th anniversary of the discovery of tanzanite, we wanted to promote the exclusivity and rarity of this gemstone,” said Bob Hall, general manager of gemstone merchandising at JTV. “Tanzanite is found in only one place in the entire world – Tanzania - making it among the most highly prized and collectible gemstones on the planet.”
Each year JTV’s World Tour takes viewers on a whirlwind adventure as gemstone buyers share the discoveries they have across exotic locations and cultures.
JTV chose Tanzania as the final stop on its 2012 World Tour because of the country’s rich history as a source of highly desirable gemstones. The most recognizable is tanzanite, a rare gem found in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. The gemstone, which exhibits colors such as blue, purple and burgundy, was first discovered in 1967 and is 100 times rarer than diamonds.
In addition to Tanzanite, JTV buyers anticipate encountering spinel, as deposits of this mineral have been discovered in the Mahenge and Matombo areas of Tanzania in more recent years.
Tanzania is also noted for its varieties of color-change garnet, a rare and beautiful gemstone present in the country’s Umba River Valley.
Special pricing and financing opportunities will be available for both Tanzanite Vault Signature and Heirloom Collections. To learn more about JTV’s World Tour or to follow the journey, visit http://www.jtv.com.
