Elmhurst, IL (PRWEB) March 20, 2012
Zoomba Group, a leading business publisher for the commercial food service market, today announced that it will publish a new magazine in 2012, to be known as Restaurant Development & Design, that will serve professionals working in the multi-unit restaurant market via print and digital editions.
The first issue of Restaurant Development & Design will be published in March 2012 and distributed to more than 15,000 readers. More than just an extension of its sister publication, Foodservice Equipment & Supplies (FE&S), the new magazine was designed to serve the growing information needs of architects and designers who serve the multi-unit restaurant market, as well as chain operators, contractors and consultants that all work in this space.
“Just as successful multi-unit operators are able to get closer to their customers through social media and turn these social communities into devoted customers, Restaurant Development & Design will be there to facilitate conversations and exchange ideas among the executives involved in the building and renovation process,” said Maureen Slocum, president and founder, Zoomba Group. “Day-in and day-out, our team has demonstrated the ability to provide this niche market with in-depth news and information that allows its leaders to make better and more-informed business decisions. Restaurant Development & Design will serve these needs through a biannual print edition and a digital edition, through its website and social media channels on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and even through the exclusive media partnership with RestaurantPoint, the annual industry event that serves top 200 level chain restaurants.”
In addition, Zoomba has unveiled a new corporate website (http://www.zoombagroup.com), which will provide the commercial foodservice market’s influencers with fast access to Zoomba’s leadership, to special marketing opportunities, plus information, news and history about the leading publisher of news and research for commercial foodservice equipment, supplier, designer and development professionals.
WHEN IT BEGAN: ZOOMBA IMPROVES UPON AN INDUSTRY STANDARD
The vision for this latest magazine was born soon after Slocum acquired the assets of FE&S from publishing giant Reed Business Information in May 2010.
Just one month earlier, in April 2010, Reed Business shuttered 23 magazines, including FE&S, as it effectively exited the B2B publishing world in North America. Slocum had served Reed Business’ hospitality media division as an advertising sales executive and publisher from 1999-2007, and she knew that FE&S was capable of effectively covering the business of the dealer and operator markets in the U.S. When Reed Business approached her with a final opportunity to acquire the assets of her old magazine, she recognized the immense value that FE&S offered to the foodservice equipment and distributor markets and jumped at the chance to serve them again.
From May 2010 through the end of 2011, Slocum engineered an impressive overhaul of her former magazine. The steps included boosting print circulation by 3,000 readers, redesigning and enhancing the print format and five electronic newsletters that serve the magazine, ranging from the weekly Flash News, which provides breaking news and commentary, to the bi-monthly Service Insights, which delivers equipment maintenance, installation and related product advice, to the monthly Specifier, which offers real-world education and examples for foodservice design consultants and equipment buyers.
Slocum attributes Zoomba Group’s ability to generate so many quality pieces of original content each month to the outstanding team that joined her at the company, including many key staff members that worked with Slocum at Reed Business’ old hospitality division. That includes Editor Joe Carbonara, contributing editors Donna Boss, Amelia Levin, Dana Tanyeri and Lisa White, Art Director and Production Manager Anne LoCascio, Finance Director Tracy Mugan and sales directors Kris Duvall and Carol McAdam.
“We can’t deliver exceptional results for our readers without a talented and committed team that really understands this market, and this is something we proudly demonstrate for our readers of FE&S,” said Slocum. “The same is true for our new magazine, and I’m confident that Restaurant Development & Design will become the choice for business news and information among restaurant development executives at the corporate and franchisee levels, plus the design consultants, construction providers and other integral players in the building and renovation process.”
“Successful marketing means being able to place a message of value in front of the right audience. Unlike any other media company, Zoomba Group excels in their ability to offer this medium; through their magazines, websites and it’s Dealer of the Year Awards Gala,” said John Ebenroth, Director of Sales and Marketing, True Food Service Equipment, Inc.
