Abel Solutions, Atlanta’s only consulting firm focusing on the delivery of real business solutions on the SharePoint platform, today announced it is engaged in a major SharePoint enhancement and upgrade for the U.S. Programs work of Save the Children. To date, Abel Solutions has developed and consulted on SharePoint improvements including an internally facing (staff) portal and an externally facing partner portal for the globally respected humanitarian organization.

“It is extremely rewarding for us to participate in this endeavor and help further the mission of such an esteemed organization,” said Abel Solutions President Kevin Abel. “This project is helping Save the Children implement benefits—such as a remote literacy training program—that are truly important for the future of America’s children.”

The second phase of the project, which has just launched, will include deployment of a new SharePoint 2010-based environment. Components include external (partner) and public-facing elements as well as a specialized internal implementation with workflows designed to facilitate program development and execution.

“As a nonprofit, we were looking for someone to help achieve our business objectives using technology reaching a large number of people,” said Save the Children’s Director of Technologies, Monitoring and Evaluation Katie Nazar. “When this project is complete, we’ll be connecting people across the country to engage in work that they really believe in. ”
Throughout the effort, Abel Solutions is working closely with Save the Children team members to introduce them to SharePoint features they have not yet implemented, strategize on what they need to add, develop conceptual plans, mockups and a timeline, and orchestrate the key components of a successful implementation.

“Abel Solutions helped guide us through project development and get us on point to achieve some pretty ambitious goals,” said Nazar. “We’ve been thrilled with the partnership to date.”
