Hoopla Media Group With LRT Entertainment and INgrooves Fontana Are Prepping New Album Releases and Expanding Their Business to New Heights

After not speaking for over a decade due to professional locations, Hoopla Media Group started in 2008 when two childhood friends were reunited in Louisville, Kentucky and decided to begin a publicity venture.

Shortly after establishing the partnership, they added an independent record label to their infrastructure.

Sabrina Hale, originally from the South Bend, Indiana area, and Justin Melo from Toronto, Canada, were the first people to join the business team and help successfully launch it up the professional rankings in the music industry.

Just a few short years later, top urban media publication HipHopDX referred to Hoopla Media Group as “media mammoths”.

Hoopla Media Group has been the leader in sales for digital music in both 2010 and 2011 for LRT Music Group/INgrooves. Lisa Thomas, President and CEO of LRT Music Group/INgrooves Fontana was quoted as saying: “Hoopla Media [Group] is one of my top sub labels and have really made their mark in the digital world of music. One of the pivotal moves in the success of Hoopla Media Group is when they partnered with Treacherous Records to release Knoc-turn’al’s highly anticipated album Knoc’s Ville which featured the single “I’ve Been Here For Years” featuring Crooked I and was produced by Big Hollis (with co-production from Jonathan Hay and Justin Melo). Crooked I is the Senior Vice President of Treacherous Records and member of the rap supergroup Slaughterhouse who is signed to Eminem’s Shady Records. “For our company to be involved with Crooked I’s record label is a great association for our own brand, and I really love the work we’ve done with Treacherous Records,” says Sabrina Hale of Hoopla. Hoopla and Treacherous plan to release physical copies of Knoc’s Ville through the new INgrooves Fontana physical distribution avenue. Justin Melo added, “I’m very excited that, finally, Knoc-turn’al fans will be able to purchase his physical album!”

Co-owner Jonathan Hay states that “Ironically, right before we decided to put Knoc-turn’al’s new record through our INgrooves channel we spoke with Fontana President Ron Spaulding first about putting the album out through Fontana Distribution. However, we eventually decided to release it through LRT/INgrooves which, coincidentally, has since acquired Fontana. Through this new conglomerate, we have the pleasure of working with both companies, including Ron Spaulding of whom we have the utmost respect.” Hay added, “Spaulding is hands-down one of the best in this business and I’ve had nothing but great experiences working with Fontana on the projects I’ve done with NREG (Nappy Roots Entertainment Group).”

Hoopla Media Group with LRT Entertainment and INgrooves (now INgrooves Fontana) have distributed music into retail that featured the following recording artists: Knoc-turn'al, Crooked I, CyHi Da Prynce, MC Ren (of N.W.A), Sir Jinx, Jayo Felony, Jay Rock, Zara Phillips, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels (of Run-DMC), Glasses Malone, Nappy Roots, Tha Chill (of Compton’s Most Wanted), Big V aka Vito Banga, Snoop Dogg, Nipsey Hussle, Focus..., Wingo from Jagged Edge, Gucci Mane, Mistah FAB, Yukmouth, Obie Trice, Kokane and many more.

Louisville native and Hoopla co-owner, Chad Kiser—whom Ben Westhoff of the LA Weekly dubbed as a “crackerjack PR rep”—has been in both the office and recording studio preparing many new projects for Hoopla Media Group. Kiser explains, “So far this year [2012] I’ve been focusing on our company partnering up with other established brands to make us one larger corporation.”

Gary Meeks and Michael Bentley are the most recent additions to the company. Gary Meeks had over 3 Million records sales while co-managing star rock group Days of the New. He has been involved with Outpost Recordings, Geffen Records and Interscope Records. During that time, Meeks was also involved with tours that headlined such heavyweights as Metallica, Creed, Aerosmith, and Jerry Cantrell (from Alice in Chanis). Bentley added his highly-successful SpinDr PR firm to the Hoopla Media division. Established industry executives, Dennis McKinley (located in both Atlanta, Georgia and Detroit, Michigan) and Patrick Solomon out of (Bowling Green, Kentucky) round out the rest of the main principals of Hoopla Media Group.

An upcoming release from Audio Stepchild entitled “The Doomsday Device Presents: Audio Stepchild The Soundtrack” will be released through the new INgrooves Amazon "DOD" retail program and will offer physical distribution for this full-length album. With the release featuring many multi-platinum artists, Audio Stepchild has created a new self-titled genre they refer to as “dust music”.
