"We welcome the support Aspaeris shows for our Pineapple Classic 5K race and for our local chapter on this day of fun, dirt and fighting cancer,” says Dina Mariani, Deputy Executive Director of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Connecticut Chapter.
New Haven, CT (PRWEB) March 21, 2012
Aspaeris, a new company that provides performance-enhancing, injury-prevention compression sportswear for female athletes, will sponsor The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Pineapple Classic 5K with Obstacles in Greenwich, CT on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Contestants will be given a 50% off coupon for a pair of Aspaeris Pivot Shorts (APS™). All coaches and runners with the Connecticut Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team In Training program will also be given a 50% discount on their first pair of APS. Aspaeris will donate $5 from each sale to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Pineapple Classic 5K was chosen because it embodies the three core values of the Aspaeris athlete: run for fun; run for speed and performance; and run for a good cause.

Contestants compete for speed as well as costume in this fun and dirty, Hawaiian-themed race with obstacles. Prizes are also awarded to runners based on the level of money they have raised for a cure for cancer. The race is hosted in conjunction with the Connecticut Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team In Training program. Aspaeris is proud to provide additional support to these home-based runners.
Aspaeris has received positive feedback from the running community on the use of APS™. Many runners report improved performance, a feeling of “lightness” while wearing the shorts, and faster recovery after racing. Prior research shows that, combined with good coaching technique, APS™ may help prevent tears to the anterior cruciate ligament and speed recovery from knee injury, as well as enhance athletic performance. The effects of APS™ on fatigued athletes are now being investigated.
Founded by Samara Innovations, Inc in 2010, Aspaeris is a female-centric sportswear company that strives to protect athletes from injury and enhance their performance with advanced compression apparel. The Aspaeris Pivot Short (APS™) was created to help prevent non-impact ACL injuries in high-performance female athletes. APS™ is a unique compression short that has two layers. The outer short is a high performance compression short designed to support muscles. The inner short uses patent-pending technology called Dual Sensory Compression Bands™ to help guide the athlete into proper position while she pivots and runs. Aspaeris sponsors the NoACLHurt blog which features stories on recently injured or recovering female athletes. Athletes can also engage Aspaeris via Facebook and Twitter.
