Swedish designer brand LELO has won the international Red Dot Design Award 2012 for the LELO Tiani™ - what the company describes as the most advanced couples’ massager ever created. Worn by women when making love, Tiani™ is the first remote-controlled couples’ massager to respond to motion-sensor technology, where vibrations are created through movements of the remote. The award was announced on March 14th and secures another mainstream accolade for the one of the world’s leading names for intimate lifestyle products.

Red Dot-winning products are marked by exceptionality, for their high degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, self-explanatory quality, and ecological compatibility. This year, a jury of the world’s leading design experts received over 4,500 product submissions, each of which were evaluated according to the highest standards of product quality and design. As a Red Dot winner, the LELO Tiani™ now stands alongside the likes of past winners such as the Apple iPhone 4, BMW 5er Touring, and Bose SoundDock.

On being awarded the design industry’s highest acclaim, LELO Germany Sales Manager Stiv Petrovic said: “LELO has always been about superior design and product excellence, and this is as true for our revolutionary couples’ massager Tiani™ as anything else. It is a genuine pleasure for LELO to be acknowledged by the world’s leading design experts, as we continue to lead the way globally for design
in the intimate lifestyle market.”

The Red Dot Awards are carried out in three disciplines: Product Design, Communication Design, and Design Concept. In 2011 alone, more than 14,000 entries from over 70 countries were registered in all three categories. LELO representatives will attend the Red Dot Winners’ Gala at the Zollverein World Cultural Heritage Site in Essen, Germany on July 2nd to formally accept the award. After the ceremony, LELO’s Tiani™ will secure a spot in the Red Dot design museum’s permanent exhibition for 2012 Product Design winners.
