Dr. Michael Fiorillo, renowned plastic surgeon who frequently appears in the national media, is seeing more and more patients choosing less-invasive cosmetic treatments over traditional plastic surgery. While procedures like breast augmentation and liposuction continue to steadily grow more popular, Dr. Fiorillo’s practice is seeing a significant rise in minimally-invasive treatments such as injections and laser treatments.

“In today’s world, many people are choosing to go less invasive,” explains Dr. Fiorillo. “Patients are loving the non-surgical options we offer, such as Botox injections and laser work.” Botox is an injectable treatment that works to prevent facial creases. Laser resurfacing addresses a host of skin issues such as sun damage, crow’s feet and brown spots.

“Patients now are looking for a more natural look and less downtime,” says Dr. Fiorillo. “Instead of lengthy surgeries, many are asking for these effective ‘quicker-fix’ solutions.” Dr. Fiorillo, who recently opened SoHo’s newest MediSpa, Luminique, offers many of these treatments including Dysport, laser wrinkle removal and the cutting-edge HydraFacial.

Furthermore, data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) confirms what Dr. Fiorillo is seeing at his New York and New Jersey Plastic Surgery Offices. Based on the most recent ASPS statistics, for every one surgical cosmetic procedure that was performed in the US, seven minimally-invasive procedures were performed.

Dr. Fiorillo also explained the far-reaching advantages of lesser-invasive cosmetic treatment. “Patients can achieve a natural, refreshed look often without the need for general anesthesia or lengthy recoveries,” says Dr. Fiorillo. “Best of all, these ‘lunchtime’ treatments can often achieve a refreshed, youthful appearance without looking as though you had work done.”

Dr. Fiorillo recently opened his newest MediSpa, Luminique, at 350 Hudson Street in Manhattan and is taking new clients at (212) 647-0007. His other locations are in Pearl River, NY and Montvale, NJ.
