While individual Americans hold vastly different political views, those views can not be allowed to divide us. It is vital to remember that regardless of our own strongly-held beliefs, we all strive for the very same goal - a United America."

On March 19, 2012, a letter written by Leonard Finz, former New York State Supreme Court Justice and author of the recently published novel, "The Paragon Conspiracy," was printed in the Naples Daily News, and selected "Letter of the Day" by Scripps Newspaper Group. Judge Finz believes Scripps chose to highlight his letter, which addresses the dangerously divisive political atmosphere in the U.S. today, due to the compelling nature of the missive, as well as relevancy of the novel's premise to today's political climate.

"The Paragon Conspiracy" is an explosive and spellbinding political thriller that tells a disturbing story of ruthless power, treachery, extremism, religious zealotry, illicit millions, double-dealing, media control, global manipulation, revenge, treason, and murder in a divided America. The narrative lays out a sinister conspiracy so evil as to rank its ultimate goal as one of the most tragic events in the 235 year history of the United States.

According to Judge Finz, "The Paragon Conspiracy" was inspired by all who reject extremism in any form, and the divided America it is producing. "The Paragon Conspiracy" is currently available in paperback and NOOK Book (eBook) at barnesandnoble.com and for the Kindle (E-reader) at amazon.com.

In his letter, Judge Finz expressed deep sadness regarding "the disturbingly hostile divisions that are separating the citizens of our great country." A decorated World War II Army artillery officer who has been through many difficult periods in U.S. history, Judge Finz laments that he has never before experienced the kind of destructive divisiveness that plagues the country today.

Judge Finz passionately rejects these divisions, and calls for continuous civil discourse in spite of bitter ideological differences: "….in this extremely important election year, we hear angry and polarizing voices that keep pushing the slogan, ‘take back our country’ – whatever that means."

He reminds us that we must never forget that the flag of the United States, for which so many have sacrificed and died, is not the exclusive property of any individual or group, but belongs to every American, regardless of one’s origin, color, religion or beliefs. It is with that spirit that Judge Finz offers a solution to this troublesome problem, one that would allow all Americans to stand proud under one flag. Judge Finz states, “While individual Americans hold vastly different political views, those views can not be allowed to divide us. It is vital to remember that regardless of our own strongly-held beliefs, we all strive for the very same goal - a United America, and not a divided one. This is the only solution that will restore civility and strength to our great nation.”
