Martin Wong, CMO of consulting agency Smartt, will be speaking at BCALME and Carry On: A Professional Development Event for Magazines on March 23rd – 24th, 2012.

Hosted by The Magazine Association of BC, BCALME is a two-day professional development event that will include timely topics and networking opportunities.

Martin’s session will be on the impact of social media on search engine marketing. In his presentation, he will share his views on the recent changes to Google’s algorithm and inclusion of Google+ that have left many online marketers perplexed.

According to Wong, “Search engines have been responding to the rise of social media by integrating things such as user comments and feedback to their algorithm. As a result, search and social are now inseparable.”

The BCALME and Carry On conference will be held Friday March 23rd and Saturday March 24th at BCIT’s downtown Vancouver campus. In addition to the conference, an evening reception will take place at the Bill Reid Gallery.
