Aqua- Chem, Inc., the leader in global water solutions, announced today that the company has been nominated for a 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the Department of Defense's highest recognition for employers supporting members of the National Guard and Reserves.

“This is a distinct honor for our company,” said Aqua-Chem President and CEO David Gensterblum. “Our company has manufactured water purification systems for the U.S. military for decades, and our military systems are a core part of our business. We encourage and support any employee who wants to serve our country. It’s just one way we feel we can give back,” Gensterblum said.

Nominations for the award must come from a Guard or Reserve member who is employed by the organization they are nominating, or from a family member. The award was created to publicly recognize employers who provide exceptional support to their Guard and Reserve employees.
