Squash Blossom Studios is available for rental by photographers. All benefit the pets of East Lake Pet Orphanage, the non-profit rescue organization.

Karen Fling, DVM, president of East Lake Pet Orphanage, a Dallas-based no-kill animal shelter, announced Squash Blossom Studios just hosted a photography shoot for The Retail Products Group. Retail Products Group maunfacturers and sources products for popular brands such as Simple Solution®, Out!™ Pet Care, and Bags on Board®, among many others. This is the second shoot Retail Products Group and photographer Brenda Cabanski have completed at Squash Blossom Studios.

Squash Blossom Studios is available for rental. All benefit the pets of East Lake Pet Orphanage, the non-profit rescue organization. The name comes from the cheerful, orange exterior of the building, which aids in finding it in its industrial location.

The 18,000-square-foot warehouse facility currently has 3,000-square-feet of air conditioned, finished-out space available for use. “We are working to add wi-fi, finish out more of the space, and create a cyc, for shooting large items, like cars,” Dr. Fling said. The facility includes 16’ ceilings and garage-style doors with loading-dock-height bays.

Squash Blossom Studios offers many extras for clients, such as an on-site carpenter for help with set building, animal talent from East Lake Pet Orphanage, and an air-conditioned pet trailer that includes a sink and pet bedding. There’s also a paint booth, makeup room, full kitchen, fenced parking, and even a basketball court.

“We’re so pleased photographer Brenda Cabanski chose Squash Blossom Studios again to shoot new product packaging for Retail Products Group,” Dr. Fling said.

“The facility works really well for us,” said photographer Brenda Cabanski. “We have ample room to create sets, and house the working animals comfortably while they wait their turns. Squash Blossom Studios works great for animals, but it is also perfect for any studio project, from furniture to fashion to cars.” Dr. Fling plans for Squash Blossom Studios to also be used for film production, live performances, and special events.

The photography studio is an offshoot of Dr. Fling’s love of estate sales. She would visit estate sales often, and got to know the people organizing them. When she mentioned East Lake Pet Orphanage, one of the organizers suggested that left over items be donated to the non-profit pet rescue effort.

That’s how the East Lake Pet Orphanage Second Chance Treasures store was born. All sales from the store benefit the homeless pets of East Lake Pet Orphanage. When the store got full, ELPO was fortunate to find a warehouse available to put donated items until there was room in the store. Extra space in the warehouse turned out to be perfect for photography. “So it’s all working out to benefit our homeless pets,” Dr. Fling said.
