Hardware-assisted link protection for media streams over wired and wireless interfaces, optimized for tablets and mobile devices.

Discretix, the leading provider of field-proven content protection and embedded security solutions today announced the availability of a hardware-assisted high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) v2.1 scheme (http://www.discretix.com/HDCP/index.html). HDCP allows a transmitting device (source) to authenticate and authorize the receiving device (sink), ensuring that digital audio and video content cannot be copied as it moves across devices.

Discretix' HDCP 2.1 incorporates the DCP's strict robustness requirements, while meeting the power and performance attributes of embedded environments. Widely deployed and tested with tier-one manufacturers, the solution is available for open environments (such as Android) as well as "closed" environments.

Discretix' comprehensive HDCP 2.1 can operate as a transmitter, receiver or repeater. The solution utilizes the IC platform's trusted execution environment and critical security functions including, secure storage, cryptographic engines, secure boot and secure content /control path. In addition Discretix provides hardware and firmware building blocks to boost performance and security. The Discretix HDCP 2.1 solution is available as part of a complete, pre-integrated WFD (Wi-Fi Display) stack and is also pre-integrated with several 3rd party WFD stacks.

Discretix – an HDCP licensee and DCP member (http://www.digital-cp.com/) – has extensive expertise and proven track record in hardware-assisted content protection on mobile devices. Discretix offers the widest portfolio of content and link protection schemes for connected mobile and home entertainment devices over all the major Android hardware platforms.

“Tablets, smartphones and connected TVs are creating a massive demand for robust premium content delivery and distribution. By deploying HDCP 2.1 that is secured at the hardware level, content owners and service providers can stream HD video between devices unleashing a truly unique user experience”, Stephen Balogh, President of DCP LLC. “We are pleased to welcome a security provider such as Discretix as an HDCP 2.1 licensee.”
