Packet Design has released a new module for Route Explorer, the industry's only network management tool offering real-time monitoring, analysis and planning of IP/MPLS network routing operations, that integrates, monitors, analyzes and plans the performance characteristics of IP routing operations.
Path Performance Analysis Module (PPAM), an add-on software license that can be added to any product in the Route Explorer family, lets network engineers integrate per-link delay data into a network-wide routing topology, and immediately understand the end-to-end delay of all network paths, not just those monitored by traditional performance solutions. PPAM lets users monitor paths for changes that increase delay beyond service-level agreement (SLA) thresholds, find root causes for path delay problems, comprehensively analyze paths including delay characteristics, and model changes in order to ensure acceptable path delay behavior. Equipped with this new level of network intelligence, providers can ensure the performance of sensitive services.
