InvoicePrep, which provides invoice preparation services for law firms, today announced the formal launch of its company. The company’s mission is to help law firms eliminate the frustrations of preparing invoices that are fully compliant with their clients’ increasingly complex e-billing platforms and litigation guidelines.

The founders of the company have strong backgrounds in legal invoice review technologies and processes, and brought that expertise to bear in designing InvoicePrep. Each of the founders saw that law firms were spending an ever-increasing amount of time and resources preparing invoices and appealing denied charges — time that could be more effectively spent servicing clients or generating new business. InvoicePrep’s services solve that dilemma for the firm, allowing its attorneys to get back to the business of practicing law.

“Over the years, we’ve seen attorneys taking more time and attention away from their legal work to focus on invoicing issues,” says Wayne Nykyforchyn, CEO of InvoicePrep. “Our research shows that some firm partners are spending as much as 30 to 50 percent of their time reviewing pre-bill invoices and then even more time managing denied charges. We created InvoicePrep so those attorneys can get back to doing what they do best — managing their cases, servicing clients and growing their businesses. InvoicePrep takes the invoicing burden off their desk.”

Laura McGough, COO of InvoicePrep and former vice president of legal invoice review services at Zurich, shares that view. For McGough, InvoicePrep’s services benefit not only firms, but also their clients. “Like many companies, Zurich had an entire department focused on reviewing legal invoices. A law firm’s ability to prepare invoices that adequately describe the work they have performed so that they are paid fully, while simultaneously being compliant with all guidelines, also frees up their clients’ resources in a manner that is mutually beneficial.”

InvoicePrep’s launch has been met with enthusiasm by law firms that have agreed to use the new service. George Woolverton, Esq., managing partner of Stockwell, Harris, Woolverton & Muehl, says, “With nine offices and scores of clients using e-billing systems, we know first hand how frustrating it can be to get the invoices to the proper level of guideline compliance before submission. We would much rather use that time to focus on our clients’ needs rather than invoice preparation. We also know how valuable it will be to our clients to receive invoices that require no adjustments. It’s about time there is an industry resource for law firms in this area.”
