On February 7, 2012 G&T started the Pre-TRR/Pre-ISAT testing of the Philadelphia Terminal D&E Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS). This comprehensive system testing was completed on February 22, 2012, fifteen (15) calendar days from start to finish.

The Philadelphia System comprises nearly 7,000 feet of conveyor, the majority of which was manufactured by G&T in its Florida based manufacturing facility, is detailed for the latest no-lift configuration, and is equipped with controls and software that support the latest reporting and maintenance diagnostics requirements. The multifaceted system has been upgraded through the latest applicable version of PGDS including two major changes after the base design and factory acceptance testing (FAT) and during the field integration implementation phases.

G&T, one of the few recipients of the Department of Homeland Security Safety Act Certification Designation in the country, self performed the entire controls and software development for the project including the field implementation of the major changes. At the conclusion of the Pre-TRR/Pre-ISAT the system required no performance deviations from the acceptance criteria established under the PGDS Best Practices and Design Performance Standards.

G&T completed the Pre-TRR/Pre-ISAT testing under the independent observation and witnessing of CAGE, Inc., in a testing window of 15 Calendar Days. At the completion of testing CAGE, Inc., provided a written certification and recommended that the system was ready to proceed with the TRR (next level of testing) and then ISAT. The CAGE recommendation was submitted with nearly 5,500 pages of bound test data supporting the conclusive test results.

Following G&T’s February 22, 2012 completion of the comprehensive system testing, and CAGE, Inc. certification, the system currently is waiting for confirmation on when the next level of testing shall begin which will come from the Philadelphia DOA and TSA.
