2012 Marks A New Season for the Anticipated Vinitaly Wine Tasting

If you can’t make it to Verona for the 46th edition of Vinitaly (happening now through March 28th), don’t be alarmed. ‘Vinitaly In The World’ will be coming to you once again, right here in the United States with stops in Chicago and New York.

In Chicago, there will be a trade tasting in the afternoon and an evening event for consumers on April 30th at the River East Arts Center, and a trade tasting on May 2 at Three Sixty°, Tribeca Rooftop in New York City.

The tour will have events dedicated specifically to the trade with innovative seminars on brand building and restaurant trends. Seminars will be led by a blend of seasoned professionals as well as young innovators in the wine industry. Vinitaly will also hold tasting seminars dedicated to particular wine regions.

This is the 15th international tour of Vinitaly and the first time the tour is being held in the Spring. The switch from Fall to Spring was made to better accommodate the US wine trade as well as Italian producers. The 2012 tour will be stopping in China and Russia as well as the US.

The Vinitaly US Tour will be the exclusive wine provider for the American Cancer Society’s “Taste of Hope” gala which will take place at 82 Mercer on May 3rd. This is the third year in a row that Vinitaly is working to raise money in the fight against cancer, a disease that knows no global boundaries.
