FanMix brings all your social conversations together in one simple email-style inbox.
(PRWEB) March 27, 2012
Recent TechStars graduate SocialEngine, publisher of the SocialEngine community platform, has launched FanMix - an email-style inbox for social conversations.
FanMix is a new service designed for community managers, brands, and anyone dealing with high volumes of online conversations and relationships.
Due to the mass adoption of social networks like Twitter and Facebook, people are having more conversations in social channels outside of email. Despite the many engagement dashboards and high-level monitoring tools that have emerged, very few of them offer an organized and productive experience akin to email clients like Gmail, and nearly none of them actually merge social conversations with users’ email. As a result, many Internet users feel alienated or overwhelmed by social media channels and are not using them effectively.
Inspired by the simplicity of email, FanMix is a unified social inbox. The service lets users connect multiple accounts from social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Users then see all of their conversations from these social networks in a simple email-style inbox. FanMix also lets users archive and search through their conversations, helping them to be more productive while making their entire social history more accessible. Users can also install a Chrome extension that adds FanMix to their Gmail account, allowing them to access and manage all their non-email conversations right from Gmail.
While the service is free, FanMix is developing a premium option that will include more comprehensive collaboration tools, monitoring features, recommendations, and community-oriented analytics. FanMix is also rolling out support for more channels like Google+, Foursquare, Tumblr, and others.
SocialEngine provides web-based software that helps people and brands build, manage and grow their online communities. Led by co-founders Alex Benzer and Charlotte Genevier, SocialEngine’s eleven-person team is based in Los Angeles. SocialEngine’s white-label community platform has been used by thousands of people to build their own unique social experiences. FanMix was conceived while SocialEngine attended the TechStars Boulder 2011 program.
