Oracle Digital, Western Australia’s leading SEO Company, has unveiled its latest online marketing tools and techniques to assist businesses make a more profitable transition to the virtual realm, considering the latest economic forecasts which show how online sales will exceed in-store sales within the next few years.

According to a new research undertaken by financial economic experts, online sales are set to dramatically outsmart those belonging to bricks and mortar stores by an annual rate of 20% over the next couple of years.

This forecast stems from the latest retail sales index released by the National Australia Bank. It is shown that in 2011, online sales were able to outgrow sales belonging to the traditional retail sector by 2.5%. The said index also showed that in the previous year, an estimated $10.5 billion was spent by Australians using online platforms.

The report also noted that although the $10.5 billion sales made by online retailers comprises just around 4.9% of the total retail sales of the entire retail industry – it cannot negate the fact that over the past 12 months, online sales have been growing at a steady pace of 29%, which is ten-fold the growth of traditional retailers.

Alan Oster, the Chief Economist of the National Australia Bank, adding more veracity to the said findings says, "I can't see any reason why this online channel wouldn't continue growing at 20 percent for quite some years yet.”

Oster also explained that earlier reports stating that most online sales were actually generated by international companies are not well founded. This is in line with statistics which show that only 20% belonged to international online sales. He says, "Most people seem to assume the proportion of international sales is very large.” But then again, it is not so.

According to Oster, those allegations are not really that accurate and were actually just a reflection of the global trend during that period. He further states that local online retailing is very strong and should be made even stronger with the use of e-commerce strategies.

"Retailers need to realise the way they have been interacting with their customers has changed.” Oster says.

Clint Maher, Director of Operations of Oracle Digital, explains the exigencies of establishing a reputable virtual presence for a business. He says, "It's quite exciting to see the dramatic uptrend in searches for consumables and gifts this year. If I were a retailer without an online sales division, then I would be very, very worried."

James Corby, Business Development Director from the same company, further supports this observation by saying, “The mechanics for building a successful online presence has changed dramatically over the past year or two. There are so many different platforms and layers of marketing to utilise online. Choosing the correct strategy at the right time is paramount, and we have delivered that for our clients.”

In light of these recent findings, Oracle Digital has decided to release its newest online marketing tools for its current and prospective clients – from its SEO tactics, social marketing strategies, and other online campaign techniques – all of which have been designed to help increase web presence and sales accordingly.
