I define health as being free of disease, but also having healthy digestion, adequate levels of energy, ideal physiological function and balance throughout the body.

Vital Health, Inc. now offers its clients a way to assess the risk for disease before it develops through Functional Blood Analysis. Functional Blood Analysis will allow Barbara Griffin, NMD, CNC and director of Vital Health, Inc. to gain a broad perspective on her clients health by screening for a variety of conditions (in the functional range) like: anemia, infections, reactive hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, thyroid and adrenal problems.

Dr. Griffin explained, “A pathological range is used to diagnose disease. A functional range is used to assess risk for disease before it develops. I focus on helping my clients identify symptoms of potential disease, and respond to the symptoms their bodies are presenting, in order to prevent from being diagnosed with a named disease. The main difference between the functional and pathological range is the degree of deviation allowed within normal ranges. If blood markers can be managed before they fall into the pathological range, preventative medicine can be effective.”

Having Dr. Griffin complete a Functional Blood Analysis is convenient and does not require any further medical laboratory testing. In order for the analysis to be completed, a client will need to provide Dr. Griffin with recent results of his or her blood work such as a Blood Chemistry Screen or CBC. Dr. Griffin will utilize a computerized system and after a thorough analysis of the results she can provide her client with the findings. If a client is interested in having Dr. Griffin complete the Functional Blood Analysis, they can bring their laboratory blood work results to their appointment or e-mail Dr. Griffin with their blood tests.

Dr. Griffin concluded, “I define health as being free of disease, but also having healthy digestion, adequate levels of energy, ideal physiological function and balance throughout the body. I have found that the information gained through Functional Blood Analysis can help my clients achieve this definition of optimal health.”
