Sentient Services, a leader in market research, user experience, and information design services, today announced an exclusive partnership with Granicus, the leading provider of cloud-based technologies for government transparency, efficiency, and citizen participation, to deliver groundbreaking civic collaboration tools to the government sector.

Currently, Sentient Services’ social innovation, customer engagement, and market research platform, called icanmakeitbetter, is being used by several Fortune 500 companies to transform the way they gather feedback from their users to drive better business decisions and operational improvements. The partnership with Granicus will combine the power of these tools with Granicus’ industry-leading government cloud platform to pioneer a best-in-class civic collaboration solution for government.

“We originally launched the icanmakeitbetter platform to help big companies effectively tap the collective expertise of their customers to innovate and gather feedback without requiring them to conduct traditional market research—which can be extremely expensive and time-consuming,” said Paul Janowitz, CEO of Sentient Services, “When we discovered a similar need growing rapidly in the government sector, we naturally partnered with Granicus because they have the experience and expertise to fulfill this need better than anyone else,” added Janowitz.

Under the partnership agreement, Granicus was given exclusive rights to design, build, and sell a government-centric application on its cloud platform using core features and functionality from the icanmakeitbetter solution. Last month, Granicus successfully unveiled its CivicIdeas™ tool for government to its 1,000 customers. CivicIdeas offers powerful social innovation, citizensourcing, and survey tools to encourage productive civic involvement in government planning and decision-making. The solution is already helping public organizations like City of Austin and CapMetro engage and involve citizens like never before. Granicus will be showcasing CivicIdeas to a large audience of government officials in a live webinar tomorrow at 10AM PST.

“We were searching for a groundbreaking, scalable set of tools to help us tailor a truly unique and valuable civic engagement solution for government. We also wanted something that would add value to the public meeting collaboration tools we already had in place,” said Tom Spengler, CEO and Co-Founder of Granicus. “Our partnership with Sentient Services merges the sophistication and power of the icanmakebetter innovation tools with the Granicus’ cloud platform and product suites to create a true best-in-class offering,” Spengler added.

The design, product development, and industry expertise of both organizations will be a valuable combination. “Granicus’ expertise in delivering highly scalable and secure government applications for transparency, legislative efficiency, and citizen participation and Sentient Services’ social media, usability and market research expertise, gives us an unmatched team. We can leverage our skills and insights across verticals,” said Janowitz.
