New York, NY (PRWEB) March 29, 2012
CodeFab is pleased to announce the 2012 Mobile DevCamp NYC will be held on April 27th - 29th. This year’s focus of our annual, not-for-profit, mobile hackathon is on the arrival of cloud computing as an integral component of mobile applications. Speakers will discuss and hackers will explore issues and solutions with this new technology combination. The hackathon has a new twist this year – developers will compete for prizes in “Iron Chef” style challenges that will be announced at the event.
Mobile DevCamp is inspired by BarCamp, SuperHappyDevHouse, and MacHack, to develop cloud applications for iPhones, iPads and Android devices of all kinds. This follows the previous iPhoneDevCamp events held in Palo Alto since 2007 and in NYC since 2009. Out of town guests are welcome. Attendees will include Apple iOS developers, Google Android developers, web developers, UI designers, and testers, all working together over the weekend.
The event will kick off on Friday night with a party and keynote address by CodeFab CEO, Alex Cone. Saturday morning will begin with speakers on cloud computing and a round table discussion of the issues and solutions integrating cloud and mobile technologies. Sunday will see the conclusion of the Hackathon Challenge, with team presentations of each entry. Following the competition, an awards ceremony will take place including Special Awards, which will reward values of sharing, participation, and a “can do” attitude.
