Where else can you get a private session with your own one on one teacher, on the day and time convenient for you – for free?!

Passaic, NJ (PRWEB) March 28, 2012

Partners in Torah, a one-on-one phone-based learning program for Jews across the world, has been experiencing an unprecedented period of growth, adding 40 partnerships each month for the last nine months – while at the same time greatly speeding up the process of getting matched via its new, and improved website portal.

Rabbi Eli Gewirtz, National Director of Partners in Torah, says, “In the last year or so, we’ve been focusing on our core business of phone-based learning pairs, and thankfully, it’s paying off. Our retention rate is higher, the database is now optimized, and the staff are all up on the best ways to interview and engage prospective students and mentors. With a net increase of over 420 new partnerships, this year has seen the best year-over-year growth rates we’ve ever had.”

“It’s our pitch,” Gewirtz added. “Where else can you get a private session with your own one on one teacher, on the day and time convenient for you – for free?!”

Launched in December 1991, Partners in Torah was aimed at day school parents, matching people with a learning partner for one hour a week. The initial goal was to help parents feel confident in their own learning and support their children in their Jewish studies. Later, the program continued its one-on-one, in-person approach, but branched out to synagogues and Jewish Community Centers across the country. The next step was reaching Jews who did not necessarily live near these Jewish institutions. The Torah “tele-partnership” was created to meet these needs, and Partners in Torah began its now signature phone-based learning program.

Today, some of Partners in Torah’s participants learn by phone and others meet in person. Either way, these “chavruta” pairs focus on a Jewish topic of interest in an accessible, relevant, and meaningful way. Jews from all backgrounds participate at absolutely no cost. Learning is open to any man or woman who has an interest in learning more about any aspect of Judaism and is willing to make a commitment to doing so.
