This inventive and wholesome picture book is for those who would like to captivate an audience of children that is free from the violent norms of the current material available to the young in the media markets. J. M. F. Feierabend’s Ponty and Olivia Find the Crystal Cave is the new volume in the amazing Ponty and Olivia series.

From the quiet romance of Lake Alexandrina, the author was inspired to write the series by the free-ranging pelicans of its shores. Taking readers on a journey of adventure, friendships, suspense, and magic, with a dose of life messages of love, hope and interconnection between all living things, this book is perfect fun for the entire family.

The loving bond between a young girl and a magic pelican, being the organic motif for this series, is a strongly positive and well-illustrated relationship that takes the aforementioned inventiveness to new, defining levels for fans and newbies. Where Feierabend will choose to take the series next is wholly a thing to watch out for.

This book will be featured at the 2012 Pennsylvania Library Association Book Exhibit in Gettysburg, Pa. on September 30 – October 3, 2012.

About the Author
J. M. F. Feierabend was born in 1958 in a small New Zealand town called Dannevirke. Being born under the Ruahine ranges, she has grown up with a love of all things nature. She enjoys living in isolated places of peace and quiet, and enjoys spending time with her three children and five grandchildren. The birth of the Olivia and Ponty books began while she was living in a little South Australian town called Clayton Bay, located on the shores of Lake Alexandrina. The inspiration came from observing the pelicans on her daily walk, and remembering the antics of her grandchildren mixed with world events happening at the time. So it was early one September morning while walking that Olivia Meets Ponty the Pelican entered her mind, and on returning home it was written, quickly followed by her next four Olivia and Ponty adventure books.
